Students in preschool and Kindergarten will be singing during the 11:00am worship service this Sunday, February 5.
Trinity Treasures
Trinity Lutheran School PTO will host their Annual Trinity Treasure Dinner and Auction this coming Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 6-9pm, in the Trinity Lutheran School gymnasium. The night will be filled with food, excitement, and fun. Enjoy a dinner catered by Texas Roadhouse while bidding on items such as Holiday World and Splashin' Safari tickets, 4 Walt Disney World one day hopper passes, Family pass to Museum of Science and & Industry in Chicago, 4-1 day passes to Sea World, Orlando, 2 tickets to the Creation Museum, 4 tickets to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, 2 tickets to Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky, and much, much more! Reservations are $25 ($30 at the door). Your reservation also includes a $10 Texas Roadhouse coupon which you will receive the evening of the event. Childcare and a pizza dinner for the children will be provided at no additional cost. Order forms have been sent home with your child. Spirit Week
Support our Varsity Boys Basketball team and our Varsity Cheerleaders as they head up to St. James, Lafayette for the big tournament. Trinity Lutheran will host a Spirit Week, February 6-10.

Valentines Day
Send your valentine a treat! The Trinity Lutheran cheerleaders will be taking orders for valentine treats to be delivered on February 14. All orders must be turned into the office by Friday, February 10. Click here for more information and to print an order form.
Dress Code
The dress code for students in grades K-8 is as follows:
· SHIRT - Shirts are to be colored (pink, white, blue or grey), short or long sleeved polo style shirts. The polo shirt must be plain or it may have the Trinity logo.
· PANTS - Slacks must be khaki or navy blue (cargo style acceptable).
· SHORTS - Shorts must be khaki or navy blue (cargo style acceptable). The inseam must be at least 5”.
· SKIRTS - Skirts must be khaki or navy blue, and must extend to within 5” of the bend in the back of the knee.
· SHOES - Shoes must have backs.
Clothing must be in good condition - no rips, holes...
Special days may be approved by the principal. Any questions about appropriateness of attire are directed to the principal.
Outerwear
Students are not permitted to wear any outerwear (sweatshirts, jackets…) in the classroom unless it is from Trinity, and they MUST wear a dress code acceptable polo underneath.

Anyone who has not signed up for at least 4 shifts during the basketball/cheerleading season, please note the shift openings. There are only 2 home games remaining to fulfill your concession commitment. The Trinity Lutheran Girls' Varsity Basketball team won the Christian Sportsmanship award at the St. John tournament this past weekend and Emily Jones was named to the tournament All Star team. Way to go girls!
Yearbook Photos
The school year is going by fast! We are working on our annual yearbook to capture some of this years memories. Do you have digital photographs of our students participating in activities at school or in sports? We’d love to have them in our yearbook. Re-Enrollment
Click here for 2012-2013 re-enrollment information. Complete and return your enrollment forms along with the $100 registration fee by April 15, 2012, and save $50. After April 15, the registration fee for the first child will increase to $150. The fee for each additional child will remain at $50. Also, keep in mind that if a new family enrolls and they tell us that you referred them, you will receive a $200 credit, so spread the word!
Financial Aid
Returning families applying for FACTS financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documents to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment no later than April 15, 2012, to be considered for financial aid. This is a firm deadline and there will be no exceptions! Applicants can apply online at www.factstuitionaid.com. If you have questions or concerns about the application process, you may speak with a FACTS Customer Care Representative at 1-866-315-9262.
Students entering Kindergarten may be eligible for a CHOICE Charitable Trust Scholarship. Visit www.choicetrust.org for more information and an application. These scholarships are based on financial need and are given on a first come basis. CHOICE Charitable Trust Scholarship recipients may be eligible for a Choice Voucher when they enter 1st grade.
FACTS Tuition Management
Parents who wish to make monthly tuition payments are to enroll in the FACTS Tuition Management program. You must set up your account online using the FACTS eCashier. If your child needs to leave school during the school day for any reason, please notify your child’s teacher prior to the time they will need to leave, and stop in the school office to sign your child out of class. The office personnel will then call your child to the office. If you wish to visit your child’s classroom, please stop in the school office to check in and receive a visitor’s pass. For the safety of our students we would appreciate your full cooperation in this matter.
Trinity Sign and Decal Orders
Support your student athlete and show your school spirit - order a Trinity Lutheran School window decal or yard sign! There are several designs to choose from. You may choose a sport with your child's jersey number or a Trinity Trojan sign or decal. The decals can be placed on your car window. You may place your order at any time. Click here for an order form. Proceeds will support the Trinity PTO and the school's athletic programs.
Trash Bags
The 8th grade class still has trash bags available for sale. If you are interested, they can be purchased from any 8th grade student for $10 per roll. All funds raised will go towards their 8th grade trip to St. Louis.

Coke Rewards Points
Did you know that you can designate your Coke Rewards Points, from your favorite Coca-Cola product, to be donated to Trinity Lutheran School? These points can help us purchase new items for our school.
Tardy Policy Reminder
The new Tardy Policy for this year has been revised. Please note that after 12 unexcused tardies, students will be required to attend a 2 hour Saturday detention. Parents will be charged $40 to cover the cost of supervision. Students will not be allowed to attend class until the detention has been served.
Remember, if your child is late to school and it is unexcused, they need to pay $1. If the dollar is not paid, it will be charged to the family account. Thank you for your cooperation.

Procedures
For the safety of our families, students, and staff, please read and follow the instructions below:
¨ Obey the 10 mph speed limit. The lane closest to the school is one-way southbound. Use the far east lane during pick-up or drop-off, is one-way northbound. The center aisle is only for those who are parking and entering the building. Please use extreme caution while driving through the parking lot.
¨ Drop-off time is 8-8:15 AM. When there is a 2-hour delay the drop-off time is 10-10:15 AM.
¨ Prior to 8:00 AM, please drop your children off at the T-Care entrance, and they are to remain in T-Care until 8:00 AM.
¨ Between 8:00 AM and 8:15 AM, please drop your children off at the rear entrance next to the playground. Do not use the front turn around. That area is reserved for parents of children in the Baby Lambs Nursery.
¨ Students must be in their classrooms by 8:15 AM. There is a $1 fee for an unexcused late pass.
¨ After 8:15 AM parents are to park in the parking lot and enter the building through the front entrance to the Commons area. After 8:15 AM students must go to the school office for a late pass. If it is an unexcused tardy a $1 tardy fee will be charged to their Fast Direct account. Students must provide a doctor’s excuse or there must be exceptional circumstances for the tardy to be excused.
¨ AM Preschool pick-up time is 11-11:10 AM.
¨ PM Preschool classes begin at 12:15 PM.
¨ Kindergarten & PM Preschool pick-up time is 3-3:10 PM.
¨ Grades 1-5 pick up time is 3:10-3:20 PM.
¨ Grades 6-8 pick-up time is 3:20-3:30 PM.
¨ Students not picked-up by the end of their assigned pick-up time will be sent to T-Care.
¨ Students being picked up early for appointments must be signed out in the office by a parent/guardian.
Please do not pass vehicles in line during drop off and pick up times.

Does your child need some more AR points? Check out our AR list at the Warren branch of the Marion County Public Library. They have it available at the children’s reference desk. Before looking at the list consult your child’s teacher to find out what reading level would be appropriate for you child. The AR list is available in the school office as well.

Fresh Ideas For Education
It is time to register for this program from Marsh. Last year our school was able to get a wireless router for our computers with our rewards points. Twenty-First Century Scholars
6th, 7th or 8th grade students, who qualify for the 21st Century Scholar program, can receive up to 4 years of college tuition to attend an eligible Indiana public or private college, university or proprietary institution. Click here for an online application.
We Recycle
We recycle ink and toner cartridges, dead household batteries, pop can tabs, aluminum cans, newspapers, magazines, and junk mail. Paper products and aluminum can containers are located in the parking lot. There are containers on the counter beside the gym doors for the other items.

Camp Lakeview
Where can your children experience Christian growth while riding horses, canoeing, swimming, doing arts and crafts, playing games, etc? At Lakeview Ministries! Lakeview Ministries operates two camp sites: Camp Lakeview and Lakeview Villages located near Seymour, Indiana. Both camps offer all of the above activities, plus much more! Registration for the 2012 summer season will begin on February 2. The 2012 camp brochures have been sent home with your child. NFL
Night For Learning is each Wednesday evening. Choose from 4 classes: Peter led by Pastor Herfurth; Forgotten God, led by Amanda Hoover; Men’s Bible Study, led by Gig McClain; Trinity Get Fit, led by Paula Baldwin, and Women of the Bible, led by Barb Smith. Classes begin at 6:30pm. Childcare will be offered in the gym.
Youth Group
Junior High Youth Group includes all students in grades 6-8, and
the Senior High Youth Group includes all students in grades 9-12. Youth Group meets every Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM.Sunday School
Children in grades 1-5 are invited and encouraged to attend Trinity’s Sunday School program for children. Please make regular Bible study a part of your routine.
Join us at 9:45am each Sunday for Adult Sunday School classes as well.

LHSI NewsPreview Night: Wednesday, February 15, 6:30pm, Lutheran High School will host an outlined preview night and tour for students interested in attending LHSI. Bring your parents and enjoy some tasty snacks, hear how to earn credits for college, and enjoy listening to a performance by the Jazz Band. Spirit of LuFest: The Spirit of LuFest is a new event, Saturday, February 18, which gives you an opportunity to get a glimpse of what will be on sale during the LuFest Dinner Auction. The event starts with registration and hors d’oeuvres at 6:00pm, and it will be held at Maple Creek Golf and Country Club. For $50, enjoy a five course meal paired with appropriate craft beers. There is limited seating, so contact LHSI as soon as possible!
LuFest: The 30th annual LuFest Dinner Auction is Saturday, March 10 at the Marriott East, I-70 and Shadeland Avenue. The price is $70 per person or $800 for a table of 10. For more information about the Spirit of LuFest or the LuFest Dinner Auction, please call 787-5474.
