AugustAugust/September Chapel
The August/September chapel offering will be for Orphan Grain. It is a Christian volunteer network that shares personal and material resources with needy people in America and around the world. Grain Train volunteers gather donations of clothing, medical supplies, food, Christian literature, and other aid to meet real needs. Our Opening Chapel will be on Monday, August 23, at 8:45 AM. Parents are welcome to attend.
Youth Group Kick-Off
All 5th-8th graders and their friends are invited to join us Sunday, August 29 from 6-8pm in the Commons for PPC (pizza, pop, and chips!) Let’s get the “season” flying! Need a ride, give Mrs. Baldwin a call at 946-8970 by 1pm, Sunday, August 29, and we’ll help arrange a ride for you.
Market Day
There is still time to place your Market Day order online at www.marketday.com. Online orders must be placed by midnight on Saturday, August 28. Orders will be ready for pick-up on Thursday, September 2, from 3:30-4:30pm in the conference room.
Girl Scouts
An Interest Form for any girl in K-6th grade who is interested in becoming a Girl Scout is being sent home today. Please fill out the form and return it to the school office as soon as possible. Daisies (K) will meet every other Monday beginning August 30, from 3:15-4:30pm. Brownies (grades 1-3) will meet Wednesday, September 1 from 4-5:30pm in the Conference Room. The parent meeting and registration for Brownies will be September 1, from 6-7:30pm in the Commons. Watch for more information to come home regarding the Junior Girl Scouts (grades 4-6) meeting times.
First Day of School For preschool Classes
The first day of school for students in Early Learners, Pre-Kindergarten, and the 3/4 Combo classes is Monday, August 30, 2010.
SeptemberFood Pantry Day
Help Trinity help others in our community by restocking the Food Pantry’s shelves. Please send any non-perishable food items, toiletries, and household cleaning and paper products with your child on Wednesday, September 1. The class that brings in the most items will earn a treat.
1st Library Day
Friday, September 3, will be the first day for Kindergarten - 8th grade classes to visit the school library. Students must have a completed Library Permission form on file in order to borrow books from the Library. There is a $5 family membership fee for the Trinity Video Club. Membership in the Trinity Video Club will enable each child in the family to borrow videos from the school library. The $5 will help keep the video library up-to-date.
Labor Day
School will not be in session on Monday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day. Trinity Care will also be closed.
Muffins With Mom
“Muffins With Mom” is going to be held on Wednesday, September 15, from 7:30-8:30am in the Commons. It will be a time for fellowship with your children and other moms, and the refreshments are FREE! Mom can’t come? Invite grandma, an aunt, your godmother...
Polo & Outerwear Orders
You received an order form for Trinity polo shirts and outerwear in your family folders. Orders and payments must be in by Friday, August 27. Additional order forms are available in the school office.
2010-2011 Dress Code
The dress code for the 2010-2011 school year for students in grades K-8 is as follows:
· SHIRT - Shirts are to be colored (pink, white, blue or grey), short or long sleeved polo style shirts. The polo shirt must be plain or it may have the Trinity logo.
· PANTS - Slacks must be khaki or navy blue (cargo style acceptable).
· SHORTS - Shorts must be khaki or navy blue (cargo style acceptable). The inseam must be at least 5”.
· SKIRTS - Skirts must be khaki or navy blue, and must extend to within 5” of the bend in the back of the knee.
SHOES - Shoes must have backs.
Clothing must be in good condition - no rips, holes...
Special days may be approved by the principal. Any questions about appropriateness of attire are directed to the principal.
Outerwear
Students are not permitted to wear any outerwear (sweatshirts, jackets…) in the classroom unless it is from Trinity, and they MUST wear a dress code acceptable polo underneath.

Sports InfoSports Physicals
All students in grades 5-8 who wish to participate in the Trinity sports program must submit an IHSAA physical form to the Athletic Director. Click here to print a copy of the IHSAA physical form.
Take Care Health Systems, a Walgreens Health and Wellness Company is offering Camp and Sports Physicals for $35 at several area Walgreens Drug Stores. This promotion ends on September 30, 2010. Patients must bring an IHSAA physical form (available in the school office), vaccination and immunization records and medical history to the visit. Attention Sports Parents
5th-8th grade students who are interested in playing volleyball or soccer must have a sports physical form on file. A $25 athletic fee and a $50 concession deposit must be paid. The athletic fee and concession deposit must be paid in order for your child to participate in any games. Each participant must have an athletic physical form and Athletic Contract completed and returned to the school in order for them to be eligible to play in a game.

Arrival and Dismissal Reminder
Please read the following instructions:
¨ Obey the 10 mph speed limit. The lane closest to the school is one-way southbound. Use the far east lane when driving to the back of the school for pick-up or drop-off.
¨ Before 8 AM children must enter through the T-Care entrance and remain in T-Care until 8 AM. When there is a 2-hour delay, children arriving before 10 AM must use the T-Care entrance.
¨ Drop-off time is 8-8:15 AM. When there is a 2-hour delay the drop-off time is 10-10:15 AM.
¨ Please drop your children off at the north entrance (the middle school wing).
¨ No parking is allowed in back.
¨ Students must be in their classrooms by 8:15 AM. There is a $1 fee for an unexcused late pass.
¨ AM Preschool pick-up time is 11-11:10 AM.
¨ PM Preschool classes begin at 12:15 PM.
¨ Kindergarten & PM Preschool pick-up time is 3-3:10 PM.
¨ Grades 1-5 pick up time is 3:10-3:20 PM.
¨ Grades 6-8 pick-up time is 3:20-3:30 PM.
¨ Students not picked-up by the end of their assigned pick-up time will be sent to T-Care.
¨ Parents are not to drop off & pick up students at the Commons doors.
¨ Early arrivals are to stop & wait beside the recycling bins while younger students are being picked up.
¨ Students being picked up early for appointments must be signed out in the office by a parent/guardian.
Please do not pass vehicles in line during drop off and pick up times.

Parents who wish to make monthly tuition payments are to enroll in the FACTS Tuition Management program. You may set up your account online using the FACTS eCashier or you may complete a paper application which is available in the school office. Does your child need some more AR points? Check out our AR list at the Warren branch of the Marion County Public Library. They have it available at the children’s reference desk. Before looking at the list consult your child’s teacher to find out what reading level would be appropriate for you child. The AR list is available in the school office as well.

Fresh Ideas For Education
It is time to register for this program from Marsh. Last year our school was able to get a wireless router for our computers with our rewards points. Twenty-First Century Scholars
6th, 7th or 8th grade students, who qualify for the 21st Century Scholar program, can receive up to 4 years of college tuition to attend an eligible Indiana public or private college, university or proprietary institution. Click here for an online application.
We Recycle
We recycle ink and toner cartridges, dead household batteries, pop can tabs, aluminum cans, newspapers, magazines, and junk mail. Paper products and aluminum can containers are located in the parking lot. There are containers on the counter beside the gym doors for the other items.

Church & CommunityDaytime Playtime at Gymnastics Unlimited
Gymnastics Unlimited is offering an exclusive playtime for little ones. Children ages 1-5 years old may enjoy their own playtime in the gym on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30-2:30 PM and Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30 AM. Youth Group
Junior High Youth Group includes all students going into grades 6-8, and
the Senior High Youth Group includes all students going into grades 9-12. Students who have graduated this past year are welcome as well. Youth Group every Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM.Sunday School
Children in grades 1-5 are invited and encouraged to attend Trinity’s Sunday School program for children. The kick-off for the new school year is Sunday, September 12. Please make regular Bible study a part of your routine.

LHSI NewsKristi’s Games: Lutheran High School’s 9th Annual Kristi’s Games Family Festival will be Saturday, August 28, from 2-7 PM at LHSI (5555 S. Arlington Ave.). Carnival games and concessions for all ages will be available throughout the day. This event is held in honor of Kristi Schultz Broughton who was a kindergarten teacher at Emmaus and a cheerleading coach at LHSI. Her life was tragically cut short in a car accident in 2001. All funds will help support the high school athletic department, with a portion supporting the participating association grade schools.
